Yesterday I had my whanaungatanga for my level one te rēo Māori course through Wānanga o Aotearoa. Carol, my kaitiaki, came by our home, bringing with this: This is my kite, or basket, of introductory materials. There are flash cards, orientation materials, the A Māori Word a Day book, and other cool stuff. I'm excited! … An chuid eile de Whanaungatanga
Language on the go
Am in Valencia (Spain) for a conference on education, technology and development. It's an annual sojourn for me, and the 30+ travelling (including connections in airports) always shatters me. So I'm on my bed feeling slightly sea-sick. This too shall pass. One of the main reasons I upgraded to DuoLingo Plus! (! is apparently important) … An chuid eile de Language on the go

Strangely enough, my French was more useful than my risible Portuguese. As a pedagogue I wasn't impressed with aspects of … An chuid eile de apps
Dueling decolonizations
Himself went over to Ireland to visit his Dad several months ago. My father-in-law moved to Ireland shortly after his wife died...around 12 years ago. He's got a nice little setup there and, aside from the odd cultural blunder that only a cashed up English person can commit in Ireland, he's been well sorted. Last … An chuid eile de Dueling decolonizations
