I have finished kete 3. I have finished the assessment book for kete 3. I will not be assessed until 14 November. I am pleased about all of this. I depart in a week for Europe (via Beijing) so it all has to be done before I leave. In fact, will only have returned from … An chuid eile de ka kitē kete toru
ka pai!
This week I've somewhat re-dedicated myself to my work in te reo Māori. When I started the week I was about halfway through 175 pages of learning activities in Kete 3. Suffice to say I was rather daunted...and not doing well at motivating myself to crack into things again. I'm reminded how reliant I've become … An chuid eile de ka pai!
go maith leiscéal?
A month? Has it nearly been a month since I blogged? Whoa. September is always busy. It's a month. I'm an academic. Busy. But my magistral work has been time-sensitive in ways that my language learning simply isn't. Add in a need to eat, sleep, eat, commune, eat and eat...and you get no blogging. But … An chuid eile de go maith leiscéal?
Bye
onwards
We had our assessment for kete 2 today. Aside from a typical "oh that's what the instructions said" headsmack moment, I did fine. Kete 3 arrived about 10days ago, but I decided to leave it until this kete was wrapped. Time to get cracking!
the liminal
I have continued to pluck away at my Duolingo and Memrise and Māori Made Easy work. The folks affiliated with Motherfócloir have started giving us Duolingo homework again--which is great, except the homework does not have an aligned lesson about what is being learnt (and assessed). This week's was absolute objects. I could probably figure … An chuid eile de the liminal
gaelige + eurovision = squee
This morning I was listening to podcasts whilst doing my scullery. This week's episode of Motherfócloir opened with a faux Eurovision voting sequence and a brief discussion of the Contest. I was going to fansplain that, in fact, Ireland's most recent victory was in 1996 (rather than 1994). But then Darrach and his ilk wouldn't've … An chuid eile de gaelige + eurovision = squee
wanderings in the desert
My work in Irish and Māori this week has been a struggle. A sort of winter torpor has set in. There's also some stuff happening work-wise that is not helping me find focus. It's just one of those trudging phases, I guess. It is what it is.
kotahi eejit
Have been whacking around in Memrise Māori a fair bit this week. Not the best interface and paying for access hasn't improved it. Mostly I'm using it to drill (on a supplementary basis) things like counting. My nemesis. *throwscomputeragainstfireplace* OK, not really...just metaphorically. Am now quite out of the molasses phase of learning Irish and … An chuid eile de kotahi eejit
